Your New Organisation

A well-established public sector organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Network Technician to join its Digital, Data and Technology function. Supporting a large and complex enterprise environment, you will play a key role in maintaining secure, resilient, and high-performing network infrastructure across multiple sites. This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation that invests in technology and values continuous improvement. The role is hybrid 2-3 days a week on site near Brighton. Please note due to the nature of the organisation this role will require SC Clearance.

Your New Role

As Senior Network Technician, you will report directly to the Network Team Leader and be responsible for supporting, monitoring, maintaining and enhancing the organisation's network infrastructure. This includes wide area networks (WAN), local area networks (LAN), wireless networks (WLAN) and firewall technologies.

You will take an active role within the network team, ensuring connectivity and performance across all locations while contributing to network design, implementation and ongoing improvement projects. You will be responsible for deploying and configuring network equipment, supporting firewall and VPN technologies, troubleshooting network issues and maintaining detailed technical documentation.

The role will involve monitoring the overall health of the network environment, carrying out fault isolation and resolution activities, supporting hardware and software standards, and working closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders. You will also provide hands-on installation and technical support when required.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
