The Company:
Our client is an innovative engineering and technology business operating in environments where network performance, security and reliability genuinely matter.
You'll join a small, collaborative technical team where you'll have real ownership of the network and the opportunity to work across Cisco, Meraki, enterprise WiFi, security and cloud technologies.
This isn't a huge IT department where you'll become one of dozens of network engineers. You'll be trusted to know your subject, investigate problems properly and play an active role in improving the network as the business continues to grow.
The Job:
We're looking for a hands-on Network Engineer who knows their way around Cisco and Meraki but, importantly, understands the networking fundamentals behind the technology.
This isn't a monitoring role where difficult issues are simply passed to somebody else. You'll be configuring, troubleshooting and improving business-critical networks across multiple locations, combining day-to-day network support with upgrades, deployments and technical projects.

You'll have the autonomy to investigate problems through to root cause, work directly with vendors when required and contribute ideas around how the network can be made faster, more secure and more resilient.
What You'll Actually Be Doing:
- Configuring, supporting and troubleshooting Cisco switching and routing.
- Managing and improving multi-site Cisco Meraki environments.
- Supporting enterprise WiFi across multiple locations.
- Configuring switches, wireless access points, VLANs, SSIDs and secure network access.
- Troubleshooting complex Layer 2 and Layer 3 network issues.
- Supporting LAN, WAN, WLAN and VPN connectivity.
- Working with firewalls and network security technologies.
- Investigating network performance issues and identifying root causes.
- Delivering network refreshes, upgrades and new-site deployments.
- Working directly with third-party vendors and support partners.
- Maintaining network diagrams, configurations and technical documentation.
- Providing 3rd line networking expertise and participating in an on-call rota when required.

The Profile Of Person Required:
We're looking for a hands-on Network Engineer who understands how networks work and can demonstrate what they've personally configured, implemented and troubleshot in a commercial environment.
You'll be comfortable investigating an unfamiliar problem, working logically through the network and taking ownership through to resolution rather than immediately looking to escalate it. Experience with 802.1X, RADIUS, Cisco ISE, network monitoring, Azure networking or Zero Trust/SASE technologies would be advantageous, but you don't need to tick every box.
CCNA/CCNP-level knowledge would also be beneficial, whether gained through certification or equivalent commercial experience.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone with strong networking fundamentals, genuine Cisco/Meraki experience and the confidence to work independently within a small technical team.
