The Role

We are currently looking for an eager and enthusiastic individual to join the IP Network and Cyber Security team. You will help to ensure ITN’s critical IT systems/network and data always remains secure and available to the business.

As a member of the IP Network & Cyber Security team you will be involved in a large variety of work. This ranges from network refreshes/maintenance, multicast media encoding/decoding networks, IP video routing networks and the everyday BAU Support. You’ll be working alongside and supporting our Broadcast Engineers and Projects Team with any network requirements they may have. We are also heavily involved with the network installations for outside events such as the Queens funeral and the Kings Coronation.

It can be demanding work at times as we work in a live television environment, but it is extremely rewarding knowing that your work and effort makes it all possible. Key Responsibilities

  • Aid in the security, and maintenance of the internal and remote office network infrastructures
  • Manage your own assigned projects and tasks through all stages to eventual completion. Record time spent, manage any costs involved and ensure all elements of the project are completed and documented according to the required schedule
  • Installing and configuring many types of networking hardware
  • Work closely with other members of the IP Network and Cyber Security Team to assist them where needed
  • Respond to raised Network Incidents to ensure they are properly prioritised and managed to conclusion
  • Provide escalation assistance to other Support areas
  • Conduct regular network performance tests
  • Ensure the network Monitoring tools are up to date and fully functional

Key Requirements

  • Ability to understand High level/Low level network diagrams
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work alone or as part of a wider team is a must
  • Understanding of a change control process
  • Cisco certifications desirable or equivalent demonstrable network experience
  • Flexible working possible, however you will be required to be in our central London office at least twice a week and at other locations as the work requires
  • Willingness to be on call at times outside of normal working hours
  • Energy and drive and a willingness to learn and get stuck in where needed
  • A keen interest in both IP Networks and Cyber Security
  • An understanding that working on a live production network will require occasional out of hours work
