About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Telecoms & Technical Assurance Consultant to join our client’s dynamic team on a contractual basis for an initial period of six months, with the possibility of extension. This fully remote role requires a highly skilled professional with extensive expertise in telecommunications and systems engineering to provide independent technical assurance across complex communication systems. The successful candidate will evaluate vendor designs, challenge technical assumptions, and identify engineering risks to ensure that proposed solutions are technically mature, feasible, and suitable for operational deployment.
This role encompasses a broad spectrum of technical domains, including RF, cellular communications, mission-critical services, embedded software, networking, and telecommunications electronics. The consultant will work closely with security, aviation safety, certification, and project management stakeholders to ensure that all technical aspects align with industry standards and project requirements. The position offers a unique opportunity to influence critical communication systems in high-stakes environments, ensuring reliability, security, and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in telecommunications, wireless systems, and systems engineering. A strong background in RF and antenna engineering is essential, along with in-depth knowledge of RF link budgets, RF chains, filtering, and intermodulation. Proficiency in LTE/3GPP systems, including mobility, handover, QoS, and subscriptions, is required. Experience with Mission Critical Communications (MCX), especially MCPTT, MCData, and MCVideo, is highly desirable. A solid understanding of embedded software and hardware, particularly Yocto Linux and SoC platforms, is necessary. Additionally, candidates should have foundational networking knowledge at the CCNA level, covering IP, routing, and switching. Strong technical judgment, risk assessment skills, and the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams are critical for success in this role.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
