About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer with extensive experience in advanced network infrastructure, particularly within regulated and financial services environments. The successful candidate will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network solutions, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory frameworks. This position involves handling high-level incident resolution, network transformations, and migrations, with a focus on security, reliability, and operational excellence. The role requires strong technical expertise in SDWAN, WAN, LAN/WLAN, VPN/SASE, and load balancing platforms, along with a proven ability to lead and mentor junior engineers. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working under pressure to support the company's mission of delivering secure and resilient network services.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a minimum of 4+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering, with a strong background in supporting regulated environments such as financial services. Relevant certifications such as CCNP, Fortinet NSE5/7, Meraki ECMS2, or F5 are highly desirable. A solid understanding of advanced routing and switching protocols, SDWAN technologies, wireless LAN operations, and load balancing platforms is essential. Experience with automation tools and scripting languages like Python, Terraform, or Ansible is preferred. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are crucial for producing audit-ready documentation and engaging effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Familiarity with ITSM workflows, ServiceNow, and security frameworks such as ISO 27001, SOC, DORA, FCA, PRA, and other regulatory standards is required.

Responsibilities
As a Network Engineer at Claranet Limited, your responsibilities will include:
- Diagnosing and resolving complex incidents across various network platforms, ensuring compliance with financial regulations and security standards.
- Implementing network configuration changes using approved templates and maintaining comprehensive audit trails, ensuring all modifications adhere to security baselines.
- Validating device configurations, firmware posture, and compliance with industry standards.
- Supporting onboarding of new sites and services through Zero-Touch Provisioning (ZTP) and Infrastructure-as-Code pipelines, facilitating rapid deployment and scalability.
- Managing routing policies, QoS, wireless performance tuning, and load balancer configurations, optimizing network performance.
- Collaborating with vendor management teams on escalated issues related to transport or devices to ensure regulatory compliance and operational stability.
- Contributing to Configuration Management Database (CMDB) enrichment through topology validation and asset reconciliation, supporting automated impact assessments and change risk analysis to enhance operational resilience.
- Engaging in continuous service improvement initiatives, such as monitoring optimization and capacity planning.
- Providing technical guidance and mentorship to Level 2 engineers to foster a knowledgeable and efficient team environment.
- Ensuring all network operations are documented accurately, supporting audit and compliance requirements.
- Producing operational reports, dashboards, and summaries for various stakeholders.
- Supporting governance initiatives, including process improvement, risk analysis, and post-implementation reviews.
