Role Description

The Network Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in the Milton Keynes Office, United Kingdom. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining network infrastructure to support secure, reliable, and scalable operations for Meridian IT UK and its clients. Day-to-day tasks include configuring and managing network devices, monitoring performance, diagnosing and resolving connectivity issues, and implementing updates and improvements. The role also involves collaborating with infrastructure, cloud, security, and software teams to support project deployments, ensure network security controls are in place, and assist with capacity planning and documentation. The Network Engineer will engage with internal stakeholders and clients as needed to understand requirements, propose solutions, and support ongoing service delivery.

  • Candidates should possess strong skills in Network Engineering and Network Design for planning, implementing, and optimizing enterprise network solutions.
  • Candidates should possess solid Network Administration and Troubleshooting skills to manage configurations, monitor performance, and resolve incidents efficiently.
  • Candidates should possess expertise in Network Security to implement secure architectures, access controls, and best practices for protecting data and systems.
  • Candidates should possess familiarity with common networking technologies and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, VPNs, firewalls, wireless networks).
  • Candidates should possess effective communication and documentation skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and explain technical concepts clearly.
  • Relevant certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+, or equivalent experience are beneficial, as is prior experience in enterprise or managed services environments.
  • A background in computer science, information technology, or a related field is advantageous, along with a commitment to continuous learning and staying current with emerging networking and security trends.
