Job Description
Anticipated Contract End Date/Length: 6-month initial contract
Work Setup: Hybrid (3 days per week onsite)
Clearance Required: Active UK SC Clearance required; MOD SC Clearance preferable
Our client in the Information Technology and Services industry is looking for a Network Engineer with strong enterprise networking experience to support a Network Operations Centre (NOC) across complex technology landscapes. The successful candidate will provide expertise across the full lifecycle of network solutions, performing a mixture of RUN and Project activities to deliver a stable, secure, efficient, and well-managed infrastructure.
What you will do:
- Troubleshoot and configure enterprise networks across complex infrastructure environments.
- Diagnose and resolve network incidents to support stable and efficient network operations.
- Implement network changes in accordance with established operational and change management processes.
- Undertake project tasks in support of internal and external Project Managers.
- Support Cisco ACI software-defined networks across multi-site and multi-pod environments.
- Support enterprise firewalls, including Palo Alto, Check Point, Cisco Firepower, Cisco ASA, and AnyConnect Remote Access.
- Support enterprise Wi-Fi technologies, including Cisco WLC and other enterprise wireless solutions.
- Troubleshoot and fault-find routing issues across BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP environments.
- Apply in-depth knowledge of networking protocols, including IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of Network Operations Centre capabilities and infrastructure support practices.
- Strengthen existing technical capabilities through professional training, certifications, and practical experience.

Qualifications
- Have a proven track record supporting enterprise networks with valid networking technical certifications demonstrating proficiency.
- Have in-depth experience supporting Cisco ACI software-defined networks across multi-site and multi-pod environments.
- Have experience supporting firewalls, including Palo Alto, Check Point, Cisco Firepower, Cisco ASA, and AnyConnect Remote Access.
- Have experience supporting enterprise Wi-Fi technologies, including Cisco WLC or equivalent solutions.
- Have strong troubleshooting and fault-finding experience across BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP routing environments.
- Have a deep understanding of networking protocols, including IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
- Have hands-on experience with ACI, Palo Alto, Panorama, VPN, ISE, SDA, and Citrix NetScaler.
- Hold active UK SC Clearance.
- Be a sole UK National, with profiles having no more than 28 days spent outside the UK during the past 5 years.
- Be able to work onsite 3 days per week in Manchester or Barrow.
