Network Engineer (Mandarin Speaking) – C / Linux

Location: Brentwood, Essex, UK (On-site / Hybrid)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Visa Sponsorship: Available for the right candidate (details below)

About the Role

We're looking for a Mandarin-speaking Network Engineer with strong hands-on experience in networking, C programming, and Linux systems to join our growing technical team in Brentwood, UK. This role sits at the intersection of low-level systems engineering and network infrastructure, supporting products and clients across both UK and Chinese-speaking markets.
You'll work closely with our engineering, support, and international client teams — communicating technical details fluently in both English and Mandarin.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and maintain networking infrastructure (routing, switching, TCP/IP, firewalls, wifi, VPNs)
  • Develop and debug systems-level software in C on Linux environments
  • Troubleshoot network performance, connectivity, and security issues
  • Liaise with Mandarin-speaking clients, vendors, and partner teams — both written and verbal communication
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams on infrastructure projects
  • Write and maintain technical documentation in English and Mandarin
  • Support system integration, testing, and deployment activities
  • Participate in on-call/escalation support as required

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
