Network Engineering Lead and Technical Design Authority
You will be the Firm's Global Technical Authority for Networking, responsible for the design, resilience and performance of the Network across multiple regions, Cloud environments and Trading Connectivity. The role defines and drives the Enterprise Network Strategy, working closely with an MSP, acting as the senior escalation point for complex Network issues across a Hybrid, Cloud-First Infrastructure.
Specific Responsibilities
- Leading the design, implementation and evolution of the Global Network: LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, SD-WAN, Data Centre and Cloud Connectivity across all locations.
- Leading design and delivery of connectivity for Trading and Market Data: Exchange, Broker and Co-Location links, Cross-Connects and Market-Data Distribution.
- Owning Cloud Networking Design across AWS and/or Azure: VPC/VNet, Transit Gateway, PrivateLink, ExpressRoute / Direct Connect, Route53, peering, hybrid routing and DNS.
- Exploring and onboarding new AWS and/or Azure Networking Services and features as part of continuous improvement of the Cloud Network platform.

Requirements
- 10+ years in Enterprise Network Engineering, including significant time in a Principal, Lead or Design-Authority capacity.
- Strong expertise in Enterprise Networking Technologies: Routing, Switching, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP, OSPF, QoS and Multicast for Market Data.
- Experience with WAN technologies such as SD-WAN.
- Hands-on knowledge of Data Centre and Campus Network design (e.g. spine-leaf, high-availability architectures).
- Experience with Network Security Principles: Segmentation, Firewalls (Palo Alto essential), VPNs and Zero-Trust concepts.
- Production-scale Cloud Networking in AWS and/or Azure, including Hybrid Connectivity and Network Design with hands-on experience with: VPC, Transit Gateway, PrivateLink, Direct Connect and Route53 (or Azure equivalents).
- Automation and Scripting experience (Python, Ansible, Terraform) applied to real Network Infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of Network Monitoring, Observability and Performance Optimisation tools.
- Proven experience operating Global Network Environments with High-Availability requirements, ideally in Financial Services or another Latency-sensitive, Regulated Environment.

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a major multi-strategy Hedge Fund in its early stages of operations and growth with a strong pipeline of greenfield projects and initiatives as Senior Networks Lead and Technical Design Authority. Please note that this Firm operates a full-time onsite, five-days per week policy and is unable to provide any Visa Sponsorship whatsoever.
