THE POSITION

We have an immediate opening for a highly motivated, collaborative, and committed individual to fill our Network Field Technician position within our Global Network team. The Network Technician will support the Project Management and Network Engineering team to carry out a best-in-class service in the deployment of networking hardware for Global customers.

Please Note: This position will require 90% travel to various customer sites around the globe, including the UK, Ireland, and Europe.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Installing network hardware, components, and cabling.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues with network cabling, copper, and fiber.
  • Inspecting and testing copper and fiber optic lines to ensure they adhere to industry standards.
  • Ability to rack and stack networking hardware within onsite and off-site racks in accordance with requirements.
  • Ability to provide technical support through various means of communication.
  • Collaborate easily with network engineers and project managers.
  • Assisting network engineers with network design, implementation, and problem resolution.
  • Be able to cable networking rooms and racks to data center cabling requirements and standards.
  • Create site survey reports on MDF and IDF readiness, including power & cooling and rack status.
  • Perform both Pre and Post Wifi surveys using industry standard software and equipment.
  • Meet quality, productivity, turnaround time, and other expectations.
  • Any other ad hoc duties as reasonably required by the company and within the competency of the post-holder.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Good experience of networking hardware - routers, servers, switches, PDUs, copper termination/testing, and fiber optic cabling/testing.
  • Hands-on experience with major manufacturers of routers, switches, and wireless.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, time management, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to read technical network diagrams, schematics, and port maps.
  • Ability to interpret rack build layouts and bills of materials.
  • Good understanding of networking concepts and a desire to build skills in this area.
  • Candidate must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills, and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to diagnose basic technical problems and find the root cause.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Previous years' experience in Network Engineering Deployments for large-scale networks in a corporate environment.
  • Must be available to work outside of normal business hours.
  • Must be available to travel to various customer sites globally.

EXPERIENCE LEVEL

  • 2+ years Network deployment experience and/or Data Centre Experience.

EDUCATION

  • Preferred: CCNA / JNCIA / CompTIA.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English.
