We have an exciting opportunity within our Customer Operations department to become a Network Gang Operative.
Working in this role, you are responsible for the operation and maintenance of Severn Trent’s underground water network. This includes inspecting, improving, and repairing our assets to ensure a continuous supply of potable water to our customers through our infrastructure.
The role of a Network Gang Operative involves providing effective installation, repair, and maintenance services on the company’s infrastructure assets, such as pipes and ancillary fittings. They respond to and resolve issues raised by customers or the public, liaise with other departments, and work with our Contract Partners to deliver these services efficiently.
Apart from this role, you will also be responsible for the delivery of work scheduled to customers in accordance with the Companies service level agreements or customer service standards and you will be required to perform the duties of the role in compliance with statutory or regulatory standards. With this, you will deliver excellent customer service in accordance with the Companies policies and standards with an aim to deliver the job right first time.

Please be aware a full UK driving License is required for this role. You will also be required to work a 42.5-hour week. And you will be part of a standby rota.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- A full UK driving License is needed as you will be required to independently travel to depots/bases.
- This role is physically demanding and will require an individual who has good strength and stamina.
- Having the ability to work outdoors in all weathers is vital due to the nature of the role.
- The ability to apply rational thinking and technical expertise to resolve complex challenges.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complicated technical messages in a simple way.
- A positive attitude with a strong customer focus are essential. We're looking for individuals who bring energy, empathy, and a commitment to delivering outstanding service in every interaction.
- Being able to demonstrate a strong duty of care is essential. A commitment to safety, responsibility, and respectful collaboration is key to maintaining high standards and protecting those impacted by our operations is essential.
