X3 Network Implementation Engineer in London or nearby London
Engineer will have to work from Friday to Tuesday (including weekends) to perform various activities before LAN/WAP pre-refresh, refresh, and post-refresh at Hospital and Gym sites.
Engineer will have to travel to various sites, and they will be paid travel expenses as per actuals.
Day rate: £300 - £400 (Inside IR35)
Need a quick joiner who can start work in the next 1 week. Initially 6-weeks, but this could be extended.
Network Implementation Engineer
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, configure, test, and commission complex enterprise network environments, including Cisco Catalyst 9K switching, Cisco Meraki, routing, switching, and WLAN technologies.
- Lead greenfield and brownfield network implementations, including discovery, requirements validation, detailed planning, staging, deployment, migration, testing, and handover to operations.
- Lead migration project, Cisco Catalyst 9200/9300 switches to Cisco Meraki switching platforms.
- Design and implement enterprise-grade Meraki LAN and Wireless solutions.
- Update network assessments, site surveys, Low-Level Design (LLD), implementation, and migration documentation.
- Build and configure Meraki Dashboard environments, Switch Profiles and Templates.
- Configure VLANs, Routing, QoS, and Policies.
- Monitor and optimize network performance through the Meraki Cloud Dashboard.
- Implement and support 802.1X network authentication, MAC Authentication Bypass (MAB).
- Integrate network devices with Aruba ClearPass for AAA services.
- Configure and support TACACS+ authentication and authorization for network device administration.
- Support network access control, security policies, and role-based access management.
- Add, onboard, and migrate Cisco Access Points into the Meraki Dashboard.
- Configure and deploy Cisco wireless to Meraki dashboard.
- Migrate Aruba Wireless to Cisco Meraki Wireless solution.
- Configure wireless SSIDs, RF profiles, guest access, and security policies.
- Troubleshoot wireless performance, roaming, and connectivity issues.
- Design, implement, and optimize enterprise network solutions including Cisco Meraki, Cisco Catalyst/Nexus, Aruba Wireless, SD-WAN, LAN, and cloud connectivity.
- Lead network transformation projects involving deployments, migrations, upgrades, refreshes, and global infrastructure modernization initiatives.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including HLDs, LLDs, MOPs, migration plans, test plans, SOPs, and as-built documentation.
- Provide technical leadership and troubleshooting support for complex network issues, major incidents, cutovers, and service disruptions.

Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- At least 10 years of hands-on experience designing and implementing enterprise network environments, with strong practical expertise in Cisco Meraki and Cisco Catalyst solutions.
- Strong design and implementation experience with:
- WLAN technologies, including Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers and access points, Aruba WLAN, and Meraki Wireless.
- Proven experience in deploying and troubleshooting routers, switches, wireless infrastructure, firewalls, SD-WAN, and WAN circuits.
- Cisco LAN/WAN.
- Cisco Meraki (Switching, Wireless, SD-WAN, Security Appliances).
- Palo Alto Firewalls.
- SD-WAN Technologies.
- Strong understanding of enterprise networking architecture, high availability, redundancy, and disaster recovery concepts.
- Experience managing major incidents, problem management, capacity management, and service improvement initiatives.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and vendor coordination skills.
- Certifications such as CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Security, Cisco Meraki Solutions Specialist, PCNSA/PCNSE, Aruba Certified Professional, or equivalent are desirable.

- Strong customer-facing and consulting experience.
- Ability to operate independently in a global network implementation and project delivery environment.
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise and hybrid-cloud network infrastructures.
