About The Role
VQ Solutions are looking for an enthusiastic and driven individual to join the team at J Brand. This exciting role involves the installation, testing, and termination of fibre and copper networks, providing valuable hands-on industry experience. You may also complete company installations of IT systems.
- Assist with the installation of structured copper and fibre optic network cabling systems in commercial and industrial environments
- Learn to install, terminate, test and certify network cabling to industry standards
- Support experienced engineers in the installation, maintenance and fault-finding of network infrastructure
- Assist with the installation, configuration and maintenance of door access control systems
- Learn to install and maintain CCTV systems, including cameras, recording equipment and associated cabling
- Carry out basic fault diagnosis and troubleshooting of cabling, access control and CCTV installations under supervision
- Assist in surveying customer sites and preparing for installation work
- Ensure all installations comply with relevant industry standards, health and safety legislation, and company procedures
- Use a range of hand tools, power tools and specialist testing equipment safely and effectively
- Support the installation and configuration of IT equipment and systems delivered by the company for its customers
- Maintain accurate installation records, test results and job documentation
- Communicate professionally with customers and colleagues while working on-site
- Keep work areas safe, tidy and organised, ensuring good housekeeping practices are followed
- Travel to customer sites as required to support installation projects

You will work on various sites in line with client project requirements. Because the role involves travelling across the UK, a strong willingness to travel is essential.
You will also be required to work night shifts on occasion and spend periods working away from home.
About The Training
You will work towards a Level 3 Network Cable Installer Apprenticeship delivered by VQ Solutions
During this apprenticeship, you will:
- Develop a portfolio
- Attend block courses
- Have regular mentor reviews
All apprenticeship work will be completed during working hours

About The Employer
Originally set up in 1933 by Joseph Brand as an electrical contracting and repair business in Margaret Street W1, the company today still operates today with the same guiding principle of "Customer Service" underpinning all its many core activities.
