Network & Infrastructure Engineer — global media firm, Shepherd's Bush, £55,000
£55,000 | Shepherd's Bush, West London | Office-based
Our client is a globally recognised media organisation operating a major production and broadcast facility in West London. They're looking for a Broadcast IT & Network Engineer to take ownership of the IT and network infrastructure that underpins live broadcasting operations on site.
This isn't a traditional IT support role and it isn't a pure cybersecurity position — it sits in the space between the two, embedded in a broadcast production environment where the stakes are high and the technical demands are real. If you're comfortable owning network infrastructure, security controls, and broadcast IT workflows in a fast-moving, high-pressure setting, this is a genuinely interesting place to do it.
What You'll Be Doing
- Plan, install, and configure LAN/WAN networks and VPNs across the broadcast facility
- Implement and maintain firewalls, PKI, and intrusion detection systems
- Manage TCP/IP networking infrastructure — multi-VLAN environments and Layer 3 routing
- Monitor network performance, apply patches, and carry out system upgrades
- Maintain and improve IT security controls and firewall policies
- Support Windows, Mac, and Linux-based desktop and server systems
- Develop and maintain workflows supporting broadcast IT operations
- Guide engineers, operators, and production staff through complex technical scenarios
- Plan and execute maintenance activities, balancing operational risk and minimising production impact
- Create and maintain accurate network diagrams and technical documentation
- Escalate issues and liaise with vendors and wider technical stakeholders as required

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
