Senior Technologist
Senior technologist with deep expertise in designing, building, and governing network and infrastructure tooling platforms that enable scalable, reliable, and compliant enterprise environments. Proven experience defining automation strategy, control frameworks, and operating models that abstract complex network and infrastructure estates into consumable, repeatable services. Strong background in financial-services environments, with a focus on resilience, auditability, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate is proactive, able to be detail-oriented when required, and comfortable operating in regulated environments.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Tooling Architecture & Strategy
- Define tooling strategy and reference architectures aligned with platform engineering and DevOps principles.
- Design modular, API-driven tooling layers that decouple intent, policy, and execution across network and infrastructure domains.
- Establish standards for tool selection, integration, versioning, and lifecycle management.
- Align tooling strategy with regulatory, risk, and operational resilience requirements.
Network Automation & Infrastructure as Code
- Design and build automation using Python, Ansible, and declarative models to enable repeatable, low-risk change.
- Translate high-level design and policy into validated templates, pipelines, and reusable automation components.
- Implement guardrails including pre-change validation, compliance checks, drift detection, and automated rollback.
- Enable self-service infrastructure consumption models while maintaining strong governance and control.
Cisco ACI & Policy-Driven Platforms
- Design tooling and automation for Cisco ACI fabrics, tenants, policies, and multisite or multi-pod environments.
- Integrate Cisco ACI with IPAM, CMDB, CI/CD pipelines, and security platforms.
- Automate APIC operations, configuration lifecycle management, and consistency validation across environments.
- Use ACI policy models as part of a broader infrastructure abstraction strategy.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
