About The Role

In this role, you will support the delivery of resilient and secure services by maintaining and supporting the customer’s secure data network. Working as part of a small team of multi skilled specialists, you will help ensure the availability, performance, and resilience of a high profile secure service underpinning critical operations.

Through proactive operational management and effective issue resolution, you will contribute to the stability and protection of key systems, reinforcing customer confidence and BT’s position as a trusted partner.

The successful candidate will need to be eligible to gain and hold a Government Security Clearance to DV Level.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Resolve technical and service issues across complex IP networks, coordinating with internal teams and ensuring clear communication throughout.
  • Produce accurate, timely operational and performance reporting to support service availability targets.
  • Provide 2nd line incident support, including fault prioritisation, diagnostics, and escalation of complex issues to operational management.
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders while ensuring compliance with security, regulatory, and safety policies.
  • Deliver Service Operations activities, ensuring coverage during the working day and aligning services to customer requirements.
  • Support tactical improvements by contributing to process enhancements, proactively learning new network technologies, and assisting in refining support systems and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate operational, contractual, and security documentation to support effective service delivery and compliance.

Essential Skills / Experience

  • Qualified in JNCIA JunOS or proven equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience and understanding of IP data networks, including WAN protocols and technologies.
  • Excellent knowledge of IPSEC.

Desirable Skills / Experience

  • Knowledge of the ITIL framework.
  • Experience with cryptographic network devices.
  • Ability to manage workload independently and deliver against agreed targets.

Working Pattern

  • Fully on-site role with no home working.
  • Participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota, typically providing cover on a one-week-in-three basis.
  • Work a split shift pattern with the rest of the team to ensure the hours of 08:00 – 17:00 are covered.
