🚀 We’re hiring: NOC Engineer | Blackburn

Are you a network-focused engineer who thrives on solving problems, supporting customers and keeping critical infrastructure running smoothly?

We’re looking for a NOC Engineer to join our Network Operations Centre in Blackburn, playing a key role in delivering reliable, secure and highly available network infrastructure and services to our customers.

💻 What you’ll be doing As a NOC Engineer, you’ll be at the heart of our operations, managing and resolving network faults from initial triage through to resolution.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Managing and resolving incidents within SLA, prioritising workload based on urgency and customer impact
  • Troubleshooting WAN and network infrastructure across technologies including Cisco, Extreme and Aruba/HP
  • Providing proactive and consistent updates to customers
  • Supporting field engineers with project and fault-related queries
  • Managing escalations with key technology vendors, including Cisco and Extreme TAC
  • Identifying and escalating Major Incidents where appropriate
  • Supporting and mentoring our NOC Associate Engineers
  • Working collaboratively across Maintel Operations to deliver an excellent customer experience
  • Contributing to NOC initiatives and helping us continually improve the way we work

👀 What we’re looking for We’re looking for someone who is technically curious, customer-focused and confident working in a fast-paced NOC environment.

You'll ideally have:

  • Previous experience working within a NOC or similar network operations environment
  • Strong knowledge of network and telecommunications services
  • Experience working with Cisco, Extreme, Aruba/HP or similar technologies
  • Experience using service management and network monitoring tools
  • An understanding of ITIL principles
  • Experience within the telecommunications industry
  • A good understanding of Cloud Services
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of customer service
