Network Reliability Engineer – Systematic Hedge Fund | Leading Compensation

A leading systematic hedge fund firm is seeking a Network Reliability Engineer to join its global infrastructure team, responsible for maintaining and evolving the network platforms underpinning a large-scale, high-performance trading environment.

This is a highly technical operations role focused on reliability, automation, observability, and continuous improvement across a complex global network estate. You’ll work across large-scale data centre, low-latency LAN, WAN, cloud connectivity, and automation platforms, helping ensure the availability, performance, and resilience of critical infrastructure.

The role sits at the intersection of Network Operations, DevOps, and Site Reliability Engineering, offering exposure to modern networking technologies, infrastructure-as-code practices, and software-driven operations within a performance-focused environment.

The Role

  • Act as a subject matter expert for complex network incidents, acting as a key escalation point across the infrastructure environment
  • Support and maintain large-scale network infrastructure across data centre, low-latency LAN, WAN, internet, and cloud connectivity environments
  • Troubleshoot complex networking issues through deep technical investigation, packet analysis, and collaboration with internal teams and vendors
  • Improve network observability through monitoring, alerting, dashboards, and performance analysis
  • Develop and enhance operational tooling, automation, and self-healing capabilities to improve reliability and reduce manual effort
  • Support Infrastructure-as-Code practices across network operations, using automation to deliver consistent and scalable changes
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, GitOps workflows, and configuration management processes across the network estate
  • Perform root cause analysis following incidents, identifying opportunities to improve availability, resilience, and operational maturity
  • Define and improve service reliability practices, including SLOs, capacity analysis, and proactive issue identification
  • Deliver BAU changes through automated workflows and robust change management processes
  • Work closely with Network Engineering, Infrastructure Automation, and wider technology teams to continuously improve the platform

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
