About the role

We're looking for an inspiring and people-focused leader to join our Water Networks team, where you'll play a key role in delivering safe, reliable and efficient network operations across a large and diverse geographical area.

In this role, you'll lead teams responsible for maintaining and operating our water network, ensuring that day-to-day activities are delivered effectively while supporting longer-term operational and strategic goals. You'll work closely with colleagues across maintenance, planning and scheduling, customer operations, customer projects and external partners to deliver excellent outcomes for our customers, communities and the environment.

About you

We're looking for an experienced and people-focused leader with a strong understanding of water network operations and a passion for delivering great outcomes for customers, colleagues and communities. You'll have a proven track record of leading high-performing teams, driving operational performance and managing complex challenges in a fast-paced environment.

You'll be a confident communicator who can build strong relationships, influence stakeholders and bring teams together around shared goals. With an inclusive and collaborative leadership style, you'll create an environment where people feel valued, supported and empowered to perform at their best.

We're looking for someone who can use data, insight and sound judgement to make informed decisions, manage risk and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. You'll be comfortable leading change, challenging existing ways of working and delivering innovative solutions that improve performance and customer outcomes.

Just as importantly, you'll lead by example and be a visible role model for our values and behaviours. You'll have a genuine commitment to developing people, creating a positive culture and ensuring safety, customer service and operational excellence remain at the heart of everything you do. Experience working within a regulated environment, leading geographically dispersed teams or delivering large-scale operational or infrastructure programmes would be advantageous.

This role has also been defined as a safety or security critical role and as a condition of a formal offer of employment you’ll be required to undergo a drug and alcohol test.
