📍 Location: Coventry
🕒 Shift Pattern: Working any 5 days from 7 on a rotational basis, covering shifts between 06:00-14:00, 08:00-16:00 and 10:00-18:00
💷 Salary: £34,000+ starting salary plus a competitive benefits package

We're looking for a Network Planner to join our flagship Coventry Hub and play a pivotal role in ensuring our transport network runs efficiently, cost-effectively and delivers a premium service to our customers. This is an exciting opportunity to become the vital link between our clients, depots and Transport Execution Teams, creating and managing transport plans that support one of the UK's leading parcel delivery operations.

As a Network Planner, you'll be responsible for creating, executing and continuously reviewing daily transport plans that enable our operational teams to deliver outstanding service. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you'll ensure transport plans are achievable, resource-efficient and responsive to changing business demands. Reporting to the Hub Transport Planning Lead, you'll use transport planning systems and operational data to forecast requirements, optimise resources and support informed decision-making across the network.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Create and maintain transport plans using specialist transport planning software.
- Review and enhance planning templates to maximise operational efficiency and cost effectiveness.
- Produce and publish weekly trunking forecasts across the network.
- Monitor planning accuracy and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Analyse plan-versus-actual performance data, producing reports and insights for operational teams.
- Challenge and influence stakeholders using data-driven recommendations.
- Evaluate the cost implications of new transport activities and model potential business changes.
- Develop and manage peak-period transport plans, ensuring sufficient capacity while maintaining cost control.
- Produce business reports and performance analysis as required.
- Build strong relationships with clients, depot teams and operational stakeholders.
- Proactively identify changes in network activity, seasonal demands, bank holidays, peak periods and operational events that may impact transport planning.

What you’ll bring to the role:
- Experience using transport planning systems within a fast-paced transport, logistics or operational planning environment.
- Strong understanding of transport operations, driver legislation and associated processes.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with confidence interpreting large data sets.
- Excellent attention to detail with a proactive and inquisitive mindset.
- Strong communication, relationship-building and stakeholder management skills, including the confidence to challenge constructively.
- Highly organised, self-motivated and able to manage competing priorities to meet deadlines.
