Position Summary

The Network Product Manager is responsible for managing the development and launch of network products and services that meet the needs of Claranet’s customers. They will drive the product strategy and roadmap, supporting cross-sell and growth across our portfolio, while working closely across Technology Practices, Customer Success & Growth, and Customer Experience and Managed Services. They are responsible for driving repeatability and scalability across existing and new products and services. The Network Product Manager will collaborate with Architecture and Technology Practices to develop next-generation secure, intelligent managed network services leveraging technologies like SD-WAN, SD-Branch and SASE products and services alongside existing MPLS and Managed LAN. The aim is to provide solutions that resolve customer transformation, security, compliance, and scalability challenges.

Role Mission

Claranet’s strategy is to build long-term, trusted relationships with its customers by delivering market-leading, integrated managed services. We are seeking a leader to build and own the existing and future market-leading multi-solutions portfolio that Claranet offers to customers, enabling cross-sell and upsell.

Objectives & Key Results

The Network Product Manager is part of a team representing a portfolio with over £110m+ per annum in revenue. The key objectives will be to:

  • Develop and innovate network products and services that contribute to revenue growth and profitability, aligned to Claranet’s goals
  • Ensure that products meet customer needs and address any issues or concerns that arise
  • Contribute to the target of 70% of services being scalable, repeatable, and operationally supportable.
  • Product development is focused on meeting customer security requirements and benchmarked against Industry standards
  • Ensure products are developed according to specifications and timelines and with commercial acumen in mind
  • Maintain an up-to-date product/service catalogue

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Roles & Responsibilities

  • Full product lifecycle management including ideation, new development, in and end of life management within our Infrastructure portfolio
  • Create strategic product visions and roadmaps driven by experience, research and engagement with our customers
  • Centre yourself around road mapping software to produce live product and project views that help support a clear strategy internally and to help our customers resolve transformation, scalability and compliance problems
  • Lead product design and development working with internal and external project teams to deliver functional and repeatable new products
  • Build, grow and utilise relationships with internal teams, partners and suppliers to support product lifecycle management
  • Contribute to our go-to-market proposition strategy. That’s working closely with our proposition, marketing, sales, engineering and our partners to develop content and campaigns across a multitude of channels
  • Own or contribute to user persona and value proposition design
  • Support sales communities in winning new and retaining existing business through product training, customer meetings and general opportunity contribution
  • Financial analysis and reporting of products being owned & managed
  • Continual competitive analysis through the monitoring of product performance metrics coupled with industry innovations, trends and competition research
  • Continual training. To keep on top of emerging technologies, capabilities and trends, make space and time for training. Train other business functions to transfer product knowledge and upskill individuals
  • Create and maintain product documentation such as service level agreements, pricing tools, service descriptions and sales enablement content
  • Contribute to the wider team performance driving new ideas, efficiency and process improvement

Position Specifications

Behavioural Competencies – Organisational & Behavioural Fit

  • Strong commercial awareness and business acumen
  • Influence and manage stakeholders: Ability to communicate and influence internally and externally across all levels of an organisation, creating alignment between often conflicting stakeholder needs to deliver the solution for the customer
  • Strong written and oral communication skills including presentation skills with demonstrable attention to detail
  • High levels of initiative, drive and self-motivated with the ability to operate in a fast paced and fluid environment
  • Ability to travel to different sites and locations when required

Critical Competencies – Technical Fit

  • Strong technical, commercial, and market understanding of managed network services, including SD-WAN, SASE, MPLS, managed LAN, and security capabilities, with the ability to turn customer transformation, security, and compliance needs into scalable, commercially viable product propositions
  • Understanding of SD-WAN and SASE architectures, including Zero Trust, secure internet access, cloud security, and policy-based access control
  • Experience with managing technologies and vendors such as Fortinet, Cisco, and Cisco Meraki
  • Experience with managing Wholesale Access Vendors and Technology Partner Management
  • Experience applying product governance and service readiness practices to ensure products are scalable, repeatable, secure, operationally supportable, and commercially viable
  • Strong commercial product management capability, including pricing, margin analysis, revenue forecasting, adoption tracking, and product performance management
  • Understanding of managed service operating models, including SLAs, monitoring, support processes, operational handover, and continual service improvement
  • Ability to translate customer transformation, security, and compliance requirements into managed network product capabilities
  • Experience developing customer-facing SD-WAN and SASE propositions, including positioning, packaging, pricing, and sales enablement
  • Experience developing standardised service designs and deployment models that improve scalability, repeatability, and operational efficiency
  • Has previously held a product management or proposition management role or can demonstrate strong experience of product life cycle management with a proven record of successful product outcomes
  • Experience in defining product vision and strategy
  • Ability to research and generate new ideas using varying resources such as customers, sales, market insight and partners
  • Ability to analyse data and create information that supports product and business decisions
  • Service-oriented mindset that focuses on how people, process and technology operate together to create value-add services for our customers
