Network Security Architect
Stevenage
Circa £65,000 depending on experience
Hybrid working - 2 to 3 days per week onsite
Are you an experienced Network Architect with a passion for designing secure, enterprise-scale infrastructure?
This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading defence organisation where you'll play a key role in shaping secure network architectures that support critical programmes across the UK and internationally. Working on projects from early concept through to delivery, you'll influence technical direction while collaborating with infrastructure, cyber security and operational teams.
This position offers the chance to work on highly secure environments, emerging technologies and long-term infrastructure strategy, making it ideal for an architect looking to make a genuine impact.
The Role
You'll be responsible for designing secure network architectures that support complex technical programmes across multiple environments. Working closely with engineering, security and operational teams, you'll develop scalable solutions, guide technical decision making and ensure network designs meet demanding security and operational requirements.

The role combines technical architecture with stakeholder engagement, offering exposure to a wide range of technologies, security classifications and future infrastructure initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design secure network architectures for complex enterprise environments
- Produce high-level technical solutions from concept through to implementation
- Collaborate with infrastructure, cyber security and engineering teams to develop robust network designs
- Lead and contribute to technical workshops, design reviews and architecture discussions
- Ensure network solutions meet security, performance and operational requirements
- Support the evolution of network strategy, standards and architectural direction
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to deliver technically integrated solutions across multiple projects
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience designing enterprise network architectures within secure environments
- Strong understanding of network security principles and secure infrastructure design
- Excellent knowledge of routing, switching, firewalls and wider networking technologies
- Experience working across complex infrastructure programmes from design through delivery
- Ability to lead technical discussions and communicate architectural decisions to a range of stakeholders
- Comfortable working with multidisciplinary engineering and cyber security teams
- Previous experience within defence, government or other highly regulated environments would be advantageous
