Overview Of The Role
Phoenix is a leading UK IT solutions and managed service provider, with a deep specialism in the public sector. We work with organisations across government, healthcare, defence, public safety, education, housing, and the charity sector - helping them modernise with confidence across cloud, data and AI, cyber security, and managed services.
Through strategic partnerships with the world's leading technology providers - and a trusted place on the major public sector frameworks - our work has a direct impact on the services that millions of people rely on every day.
Due to continued growth, we are hiring a new Business Development Manager to help grow our Network Security business.
What will you be doing?
- Develop and grow the Network Security business, enhancing Phoenix's security portfolio, driving revenue growth, and achieving agreed sales targets and KPIs.
- Act as the Network Security specialist for both customers and internal sales teams, providing subject matter expertise, supporting customer engagements, and helping secure new business opportunities.
- Build and manage strategic vendor relationships, maintaining partner accreditations, maximising vendor investment and resources, and conducting regular business reviews to ensure mutual objectives are achieved.
- Drive business development within the existing customer base, identifying cross-sell and upsell opportunities, strengthening customer-vendor relationships, and supporting opportunities through to successful closure.
- Lead enablement and awareness initiatives across the organisation, delivering training, educating sales teams, leadership, and board members on Network Security solutions, and embedding security into the company's go-to-market strategy.
- Collaborate across sales, marketing, vendors, and operational teams to deliver campaigns, coordinate vendor events and onsite days, maintain accurate vendor information, and ensure service levels and operational commitments are met.
- Monitor and report on business performance, producing regular sales reports, tracking outstanding orders, maximising gross profit, and ensuring business objectives are consistently delivered.
Why should you apply?
At Phoenix, our ambition is to be the UK's leading IT solutions and managed service provider - and we know that only happens because of our people. Culture isn't an afterthought here; it's the thing we work hardest on.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
