Network Security Consultant — Fortinet & Palo Alto specialist, remote, £90k, all certs paid
£90,000 | Remote with travel | UK Wide
Our client is a specialist network and security consultancy looking for a Network Security Consultant to join a growing technical team. This is a broad, well-rounded role — pre-sales, design, implementation, and support — with Fortinet and Palo Alto firewalls at the centre of it.
They want someone on the way up. Not someone who's done it all and is coasting — someone with solid firewall foundations who's hungry to develop, take on more, and build a serious career in network security. All certifications and training paid for. Fully remote with travel when the work requires it.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
- Design and implement Fortinet and Palo Alto firewall solutions across complex enterprise environments (60% of the role)
- Provide 3rd line escalation support across the security estate (20%)
- Support pre-sales engagements — technical scoping, customer conversations, and solution positioning (10%)
- Produce high-quality technical designs and documentation to support delivery
- Travel to customer sites across the UK when projects and engagements require it

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
