🚨 Senior Network Security Engineer | Central London | 12-Month Contract
I’m currently recruiting for a Senior Network Security Engineer to join a large financial services environment, supporting critical network security infrastructure and operations.
📍 Central London | 2 days onsite per week 📅 12-month contract | Strong potential to extend 💷 Inside IR35 | Flexible day rate depending on experience 🗓 November start preferred, with January also considered 🎯 2-stage interview process 🏦 Financial services experience advantageous
Role Overview
You’ll provide operational support, administration, troubleshooting and security management across firewall, network security and vulnerability management platforms.
🛡️ Key Responsibilities
Firewall Administration
- Manage and administer Palo Alto firewalls
- Manage and administer Fortinet firewalls
- Implement approved firewall changes
- Conduct firewall policy reviews and optimisation

Security Operations
- Support vulnerability remediation activities
- Analyse security findings and implement corrective actions
- Support security tool integrations and assessments
Incident Management
- Resolve escalated network security incidents
- Participate in P1/P2 incident bridges
- Perform root cause analysis and implement remediation
Change & Infrastructure
- Execute approved network security changes
- Carry out firmware and OS upgrades
- Implement firewall rule modifications
- Complete post-implementation validation
Vendor Management
- Work closely with security technology vendors
- Coordinate TAC cases and technical escalations
- Track remediation activities through to resolution

🎯 Required Experience
- 5–8+ years’ experience in Network Security
- Strong Palo Alto administration experience
- Strong Fortinet administration experience
- Solid Routing & Switching fundamentals
- IPSec VPN
- NAT
- Security policies and access controls
- Vulnerability remediation experience

- Qualys
- Microsoft Defender
- Microsoft Sentinel
- MXDR
- Cisco ISE
- Forescout
🎓 Preferred Certifications
- PCNSE
- NSE4 / NSE5
- CCNP Security
