Opticore IT Network Security Engineer Opportunity
Opticore IT is a specialist Network Engineer and Project Management consultancy offering a wide variety of opportunities to work within fast-paced, challenging environments across our client base spanning multiple sectors including Finance, Broadcast Media, Telecommunications and more.
Opticore IT is currently searching for a Network Security Engineer to join a customer environment supporting a major network security project. This will be an initial 6 month contract inside IR35 with scope to extend and requires one day onsite per week in Central London.
What you'll be doing:
- Work closely with the existing Opticore Palo Alto consultant to support delivery of the project.
- Provide hands-on Palo Alto Networks engineering and operational support within the customer environment.
- Manage, troubleshoot and optimise Palo Alto Networks firewalls, including active/active high-availability deployments.
- Use Strata Cloud Manager (SCM) to manage, monitor and administer the Palo Alto security environment.
- Troubleshoot complex firewall, HA, connectivity and performance issues.
- Support firewall policy, security rules, NAT and configuration management.
- Provide technical support for proxy infrastructure and associated security policies.
- Work collaboratively with the customer's network, security and infrastructure teams.
- Assist with firewall upgrades, configuration changes, migrations and maintenance activities.
- Support the migration and transformation of legacy firewall and proxy technologies where required.
- Participate in technical workshops, troubleshooting sessions and project activities.
- Contribute to technical documentation, operational procedures and knowledge transfer.
- Act as a trusted technical resource within the customer's security engineering team.
