Network Team Lead – Cisco - £100,000 + Bonus + Car Allowance - Home based with travel
Are you a Senior Network Leader with deep Cisco expertise and experience managing large technical teams across both Operations and Professional Services?
We are looking for an experienced Network Lead to take ownership of a strategically important network practice, providing technical leadership, operational direction and people management across a team of approximately 30 engineers and technical specialists. This is a home-based role, open to candidates across the UK, with often travel (mainly southern England) required for customer engagement, team collaboration and key business meetings.
Security Clearance
Due to the nature of the work, candidates must currently hold active SC Security Clearance.
What You'll Be Doing
- There is NO hands on requirement in the position but must understand Networking and come from a Networking background
- Leading, managing and developing a technical team of approximately 30 engineers and specialists across Network Operations and Professional Services.
- Providing senior technical leadership across the network capability, with a strong focus on Cisco networking technologies and solutions.
- Setting the technical strategy, engineering standards, reference architectures and approved technology patterns for the network domain.
- Driving technical excellence across Cisco routing, switching, firewalls, secure connectivity and enterprise network solutions.
- Working through senior engineers, Principal Engineers and Architects to establish consistent technical standards and best practices.
- Acting as the senior technical escalation point for complex and high-risk network challenges.
- Driving continuous improvement across service delivery, engineering processes, tooling, and technical capability.
- Working with customers and internal stakeholders across the UK to understand requirements and provide senior technical leadership.
- Supporting workforce planning and helping to build and retain a high-performing network engineering team.

Essential Experience

- Proven experience in a senior Network Leadership, Capability Lead, Practice Lead, Head of Network or similar technical leadership role.
- Experience managing and developing a team of approximately 30 people or a similarly sized technical function.
- Strong technical background with significant hands-on or architectural experience across Cisco technologies.
- Strong knowledge of Cisco routing and switching, including enterprise and large-scale network environments.
- Experience with Cisco security and network infrastructure technologies.
- Strong understanding of secure network design, implementation and operational support.
- Experience managing technical teams across both Operations/Managed Services and Professional Services.
- Proven ability to set technical standards, architecture principles and engineering best practices.
