Overview

We have an exciting opportunity to join our small, highly collaborative networking team. The Network Technical Architect & Engineer is responsible for designing, configuring, and installing complex network technologies. The role requires a strong understanding of our clients’ business requirements and IT needs, resulting in scalable, secure, and efficient architectural strategies that incorporate a range of network solutions and technologies. You will guide customers through technology transitions, including network implementations and upgrades, and advise on network optimization.

At times, demand for network design may be lower than the need for network delivery. We are therefore looking for someone flexible enough to work across both design and delivery when required.

You will be responsible for the design, deployment, and lifecycle management of customer networks, firewalls, VPNs, circuits, and network security solutions. Alongside your team, you will support ongoing maintenance and optimize network performance to ensure efficiency, reliability, and security.

Core Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Sales and Pre-sales teams to fully understand customer needs.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of customers' network architectures, applications, and business processes to ensure solutions align with requirements and support future growth.
  • Produce designs that use the best technology options within customer budgets.
  • Ensure designs encompass the wider technical estate and integrate effectively.
  • Ensure designs are scalable, secure, and highly available.
  • Design and implement solutions that can be monitored, maintained, and patched using existing ITPS platforms, enabling a seamless transition into Support.
  • Lead solution presentations and technical discussions with customers, addressing concerns and providing clarification where required.
  • Work closely with engineers across End User, Cloud & Infrastructure, and Security teams to ensure customer solutions fit within their wider technical landscape.
  • Produce high-quality pre-installation and post-installation documentation.
  • Ensure customer networks are onboarded effectively, with thorough documentation, robust monitoring thresholds and alerts, and clear update and patch schedules.
  • Diagnose and resolve faults escalated from 1st or 2nd line teams.
  • Share knowledge with 1st and 2nd line teams, supporting internal development through upskilling.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
