Role: Network Test Automation Engineer

Location: Ipswich
Job type: Hybrid

The Role

We are looking for a skilled Network Test Automation Engineer with strong experience in Network Testing, Robot Framework, and GitLab CI/CD pipelines. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in validating networking products/services, automating test cases, and integrating automated test suites into CI/CD environments.

Your responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and execute test plans and test cases for networking applications and platforms.
  • Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Robot Framework and Python.
  • Validate network protocols, configurations, and end-to-end connectivity.
  • Integrate automated test suites into GitLab CI/CD pipelines and support continuous testing practices.
  • Perform functional, regression, system, integration, and performance testing.
  • Analyze test results, troubleshoot failures, and work closely with Development, DevOps, and Infrastructure teams.
  • Execute and monitor automated testing as part of release and deployment cycles.
  • Prepare test reports, defect analysis, and quality metrics.
  • Contribute to test framework enhancements and automation best practices.

Required Experience

  • Strong experience in Network Testing.
  • Hands-on experience with networking concepts and protocols such as:
    • TCP/IP
    • UDP
    • DNS
    • DHCP
    • VLAN
    • VPN
    • Routing & Switching
    • BGP / OSPF (preferred)
  • Experience in Robot Framework automation.
  • Strong programming/scripting skills in Python / Selenium.
  • Experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines and automated test execution.
  • Knowledge of Linux/Unix environments.
  • Experience with defect tracking and test management tools.
