Job Title: Network Test Engineer
Day Rate: £180/day (OUTSIDE IR35)
Location: Mainly Remote (occasional office visits in either London, Reading, Birmingham, Manchester, or Glasgow)
Contract Length: 6 Months (extendable)
Network Test Engineer - Role & Responsibilities
- Create, execute, and maintain test cases for telecoms and network infrastructure projects, covering routers, switches, firewalls, and connectivity services
- Review technical documentation, including network designs and requirements, to support effective test planning and execution
- Perform functional, integration, and acceptance testing across enterprise network environments, recording results and providing clear test evidence
- Identify, log, and track defects, working closely with engineering and delivery teams to support investigation and resolution
- Support test environment preparation, network validation activities, and reporting using relevant test management tools

Network Test Engineer - Required Experience
- Experience testing telecoms/network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and enterprise network environments
- Ability to create and execute test cases/scripts from network designs, technical documentation, and requirements
- Hands-on experience with Cisco technologies (routing, switching, troubleshooting, and console access)
- Experience supporting system integration, functional, and acceptance testing, including defect identification, tracking, and resolution
- Strong documentation skills with exposure to test management tools (e.g., ALM/Quality Center), test evidence, and reporting
