Job Title: Network Test Engineer (Active SC Clearance Required)
Day Rate: £400-500/day+flex (OUTSIDE IR35)
Location: Hybrid in either London, Reading, Birmingham, Manchester, or Glasgow
Contract Length: 6 Months (extendable)
Role & Responsibilities
- Develop, execute, and document test cases for network infrastructure solutions including routers, switches, firewalls, LAN, WAN, and SD-WAN environments.
- Create test scripts from High-Level and Low-Level Designs (HLDs/LLDs) and validate solutions through Unit, System Integration, Functional, and Operational Acceptance Testing.
- Log, track, and retest defects, working closely with network engineers and project teams to ensure timely resolution.
- Capture test evidence, maintain accurate documentation, and provide regular progress updates using ALM and other approved testing tools.
- Support test environment preparation, network validation, and performance testing while ensuring compliance with customer and security standards.

Required Experience
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in network infrastructure or telecoms testing.
- Strong hands-on experience testing Cisco-based networking technologies, including routers and switches.
- Ability to read and interpret High-Level and Low-Level Design documentation (HLD/LLD).
- Experience using ALM (or similar test management tools) for test execution, defect management, and reporting.
- Active SC Clearance with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
