Nashrock are partnered with an Insurance Broker who are recruiting for an ambitious and proactive New Business Account Executive.

They are a growing commercial insurance brokerage based in Essex.

Due to growth this is a newly created position offering significant scope for career development into sales management and leadership. The successful candidate will be a self-motivated broker who is capable of generating new business independently. You will build your own book of accounts from scratch, develop client relationships, and establish yourself as a trusted advisor in the commercial insurance market.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Sales

  • Generate new business opportunities independently through relationship-building, networking, and proactive market engagement
  • Build and grow your own client portfolio, targeting commercial business owners, property investors, and corporate entities
  • Develop your expertise in property-related commercial insurance, including residential property owners, commercial blocks, and individual portfolios
  • Demonstrate ability to specialise in niche markets (e.g. fleet, engineering, construction, trades, contractors, manufacturing) where applicable

Account Management & Service

  • Manage the complete sales cycle from initial client contact through to placement and ongoing relationship management
  • Provide professional insurance advice and risk assessment to clients
  • Prepare quotations, policies, and supporting documentation to broker standard

Growth & Development

  • Develop an initial book of approximately £100,000 in new business income within the first year
  • Demonstrate substantial growth in Year 2 and beyond
  • Progress toward a sales management or sales director role, building and leading a team
  • Work toward generating approximately £300,000 of annual income or book value as a long-term objective

Person Specification

  • Proven track record of building a client book from scratch in commercial insurance
  • Strong background in property-related commercial insurance
  • Experience in related commercial sectors such as construction, trades, contractors, or manufacturing
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and commercially minded approach to sales
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Basic Salary

£50,000 – £100,000 per annum plus a minimum 10–15% on new business
