The New Business Account Executive Role
What this role will do
Do you back yourself to find the right person inside a business nobody has spoken to yet, get them on the phone and run the deal all the way to signature?
This is a new business seat in our Glasgow sales team. You own the full sales cycle: cold outreach, discovery and closing. You'll be building relationships with some of the world's most exciting enterprise and hyper-scaler brands that move quickly through our pipeline. Think Lovable, ElevenLabs, Meta.
We've found incredible product market fit; the challenge is getting to the right person. You will need resilience, proactivity and confidence and a genuine hunger for consultative selling.
What you will be measured on
Revenue and pipeline generation, and you can expect to close deals within your first 3 months.
Essential Skills
- Ability to sell, as a hunter. You have carried a new business number and generated your own pipeline from cold. We want to see what you actually moved: pipeline built from nothing, deals closed, and the target you were held to against what you delivered.
- Strategic prospecting. You plan who you are going after and why, rather than working a list at volume. Tell us how you picked your accounts, how you got past gatekeepers and what your conversion looked like from first touch to meeting booked.
- Consultative selling. You give people a solution rather than a hard sell, which means real discovery before you talk price. We want an example of a deal you shaped around what the client actually needed.
- Adaptability in a start up. We have structure, but things change quickly and processes move. You take feedback and act on it. Tell us about a time a process changed under you and what you did.
- CRM discipline. You log everything, consistently, without being chased. We use HubSpot.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
Graduate Consultant — 2026 Scheme

Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Desirable Skills
- Closing experience. If you are a strong SDR, we're interested.
- Charisma and quick rapport building, which helps you influence early in a conversation.
- Experience prospecting into mid to enterprise accounts specifically.
- Hands on HubSpot experience.
Growth Mindset Over Checklists:
We’re looking for impact, not just a perfect cv. If you’re excited about this role but don't check every single box, we still want to hear from you. We see these requirements as a guide; what matters most is your potential to contribute, your passion for our mission, and your ability to solve complex problems.
Application process
- Initial call with the Talent Lead: an informal call to discuss the role and your relevant skillset
- Interview with the Head of Sales (line manager): you’ll have a chance to discuss your experience in more detail
- Take home challenge: an authentic insight to what you might do in the role, used for the final interview
- Interview with the Head of Sales + sales team: you’ll have a chance to showcase your skills through a presentation with Q&A
The majority of this process will be held online. We are flexible online or in-office for our final stage.
