New Business and Communications Coordinator
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a New Business and Communications Coordinator to join a fast-growing global practice within the built environment sector, working as part of a collaborative New Business & Communications team.
This varied role offers the opportunity to gain broad experience across business development, content, campaigns and relationship-building activity working for a practice that has seen significant growth over recent years.
You'll support the team across a broad range of activities, with a particular focus on the UK market while also gaining exposure to international work. You'll help research markets, clients and opportunities, contribute to bids and proposals, develop content and support communications, events and relationship-building activity.
This is a hands-on role for someone who is interested in how organisations within the built environment develop their profile, build relationships and win work. You'll work closely with colleagues across the business, learning how to turn their expertise into compelling propositions, stories, submissions and communications.
Responsibilities
- New Business & Bids
- Supporting the preparation and coordination of bids, tenders and proposals
- Coordinating input from colleagues across the business and ensuring deadlines are met
- Researching clients, markets, sectors and potential opportunities
- Helping to identify and track new business opportunities
- Developing and coordinating written content for submissions and proposals
- Supporting award submissions and other business development initiatives

- Communications & Marketing
- Supporting internal and external communications activity
- Helping to develop engaging written content and communications materials
- Contributing to campaigns and initiatives that raise the profile of the organisation
- Supporting events and other marketing and communications activity
- Helping to ensure messaging is clear, consistent and aligned with wider business objectives
- Working with colleagues across the organisation to understand their work and communicate it effectively
About You
We're looking for someone who is genuinely interested in the built environment and keen to develop their career across bids, communications, marketing and business development.
Ideally, you'll have some previous experience in bids and marketing/communications gained within the built environment sector. However, they're also open to candidates with a relevant sector degree who can demonstrate the right transferable skills, attitude and genuine interest in the industry.
Key Skills required:
- Experience in bids, marketing, communications or a related role, ideally with exposure to both
- A degree in a relevant built environment or design-related subject
- A strong and genuine interest in the built environment and the sectors in which the organisation operates
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A good working knowledge of InDesign
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines
- Good research skills and a naturally curious approach
- Commercial awareness and an interest in understanding markets, clients and opportunities
- A proactive, positive attitude and willingness to learn
- The confidence to work collaboratively with a wide range of people

Previous bids and marketing experience would be ideal, but they're not looking for a finished product. If you have relevant experience, a relevant degree, a strong interest in the sector and can demonstrate the right transferable skills and attitude, they'd be very interested in hearing from you.
