Engineering Business Developer – Northern England | Manchester
Visum Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of an established specialist engineering manufacturer, who are looking to appoint an Engineering Business Developer to cover Northern England, with a particular focus on the Manchester region.
This is a great opportunity for a technically minded and commercially driven sales professional to take ownership of a key territory, developing relationships with engineering consultancies, owners and other key industry stakeholders while influencing projects from specification through to delivery.
The Role
- You will be responsible for driving business development across your territory, identifying target accounts and projects while increasing the company's specification presence within key engineering markets.
- The role will involve developing relationships with engineering groups, influencing master and project specifications, gathering market and project intelligence and identifying new commercial opportunities.
- You will work closely with the wider sales team to ensure opportunities are effectively managed and handed over at the appropriate stage, whilst maintaining accurate account and project information through Salesforce.
- You will also be expected to build strong industry connections, engage with trade organisations and professional associations, and stay up to date with market trends, competitor activity and developments across the sector.

About You
- We are looking for an experienced Business Development, Technical Sales or Engineering Sales professional with a proven track record of developing new business, managing key accounts and delivering complex sales.
- A background within engineering, construction, mechanical systems or a technical/industrial product environment would be highly advantageous.
- Experience working with engineering consultancies and influencing specifications would be particularly beneficial, alongside established contacts within sectors such as healthcare, aviation, commercial or residential construction.
- You will need to be commercially confident, technically capable and comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders, engineers and decision-makers.
- The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who enjoys working autonomously, whilst also being part of a highly skilled and collaborative team.

Package
- Up to £65,000 basic salary
- Car allowance
