New Business Development Manager
Food Manufacturing | Glasgow | UK Wide Travel
Our client, a growing Glasgow-based food manufacturer with ambitious plans, is looking for an exceptional commercial professional to help drive our next phase of growth.
This is a newly created role with a simple objective:
Win profitable new business and open doors in sectors where our products can thrive.
We're looking for someone with a proven track record of supplying food products into retail, wholesale, hospitality, and travel sectors, who understands how to navigate buying teams, build relationships, and convert opportunities into long-term commercial partnerships.
What You'll Be Doing
- Identifying and securing new business opportunities across key target sectors.
- Developing relationships with buyers, category managers, and procurement teams.
- Securing product listings and commercial agreements.
- Building a strong pipeline of opportunities and converting prospects into profitable customers.
- Working closely with our leadership team to help shape the company's commercial strategy and growth plans.
- Representing the business at customer meetings, industry events, and trade shows.

Our Target Markets
We're particularly interested in candidates with experience supplying one or more of the following:
- Supermarkets and other retail
- Food wholesalers
- Foodservice distributors
- Coffee shop and café groups
- Garden centres
- Hotel chains
- Contract caterers
- Airlines
- Rail operators
- Coach and travel companies
- Multi-site hospitality businesses
About You
You will have:
- Proven success selling food products on behalf of a food manufacturer.
- Experience winning new business and developing strategic customer relationships.
- Existing contacts and networks within our target sectors.
- A strong understanding of commercial negotiations, margins, and profitability.
- The confidence to engage with senior decision-makers and buyers.
- A self-starting, entrepreneurial mindset and the drive to make things happen.
- Most importantly, you're someone who understands that sales are about profitable growth, not just turnover.
