New Business Development / Category Manager / Buyer
Digital | Marketplace | Seller Acquisition
London based | Hybrid
Are you a Buyer, Category Manager or commercial product professional who loves spotting a gap, finding the right brands and turning opportunities into commercial wins? Or perhaps you're already working in marketplace, eCommerce or new business and are ready for a bigger, more strategic role?
We're looking for a New Business Development Manager to help grow an exciting Marketplace proposition across a portfolio of well-known retail brands.
What's the role?
You'll own seller acquisition across around half of the Marketplace's category portfolio, identifying opportunities to add new brands, fill range gaps, expand categories and give customers more choice. You'll use customer demand, search data, competitor activity and category insight to understand what the Marketplace needs next - and who can deliver it. You'll then find, pitch to and negotiate with those brands and sellers, building a strong pipeline and bringing new partners on board.
You'll also lead and develop a team of New Business Leads, combining commercial expertise with genuine people leadership.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
