Business Development Manager - Corporate Partnerships

£41,500 Basic + Company Car + Sales-Based Commission

UK Field-Based

Workwear Express is the UK's leading supplier of customised workwear, uniform and PPE. We've been doing this for more than 36 years. Today we employ over 300 people and run a 150,000 sq ft site in Durham where embroidery, print, warehousing and distribution all happen under one roof. All of it is done in-house, which means we control quality, lead times and cost.

Our Corporate Partnerships division runs fully managed workwear, uniform and PPE programmes for some of the UK's largest national and multi-site businesses. Dedicated account management, in-house production, a supply chain built for scale and our own online ordering platform. Customers get one supplier, one platform and full control of their uniform spend.

We're growing and we're investing. Now we need an experienced Business Development Manager to win more of these accounts.

The Role

This is a pure new business role. You'll win national and multi-site organisations with complex workwear, uniform and PPE requirements.

You'll find the opportunities, build relationships with the people who make the decisions and lead every deal from first conversation to contract award. These are consultative sales. Expect multiple decision-makers, wearer trials, procurement exercises, commercial modelling and implementation planning. Deals take months, not weeks, and you'll need the discipline to work a long cycle and keep it moving. Once the contract is signed, our Commercial Operations and Account Management teams take over mobilisation and the day-to-day running of the account. You're not here to manage accounts. You're here to win them.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What You'll Do

  • Build and manage a pipeline of new business through prospecting, networking, referrals and market intelligence
  • Develop relationships with procurement teams, operational leaders and senior decision-makers
  • Understand how a prospect manages uniform, workwear and PPE today and show them where it can be better
  • Run presentations, product demonstrations and wearer trials
  • Work with our internal specialists to shape the right solution for each customer
  • Lead tender responses, including PQQs, RFIs and RFPs
  • Write proposals that win and negotiate the commercial terms
  • Keep an accurate pipeline and forecast
  • Hit your new business targets, then beat them

Who We're Looking For

You've won sizeable B2B accounts before and you can prove it. You've sold into large organisations where the sales cycle is long and the room is full of stakeholders. You're comfortable in front of procurement, operations and senior leadership, and you can hold your own on commercial proposals and long-term contracts. Experience in workwear, PPE, industrial supplies, facilities management, managed services or MRO is useful. It isn't essential. We care more about whether you can win complex business and build relationships that last.

What You'll Get

  • £41,500 basic salary
  • Company car
  • Sales-based commission structure
  • Laptop and mobile phone
  • Pension scheme
  • Life assurance

Why Join Us?

You'll join a growing Corporate Partnerships team at one of the UK's leading workwear, uniform and PPE providers. You'll sell with real substance behind you: in-house production, a proven record with national customers and a business that backs its salespeople. If you can win, the earnings and the career progression will follow.

If you're a Business Development Manager, Corporate Sales Professional or Key Account Manager who would rather win new business than manage old business, apply now.
