About Renewable Exchange

Want a place where you can grow, make a real impact and be part of a great team? At Renewable Exchange we’re a small, passionate team with a culture that values people as much as performance. We collaborate, we celebrate difference and we back each other. Everyone here has room to shine, innovate and contribute directly to the company’s success.

You won’t be another cog in the machine. You’ll be part of a mission-driven team working to make the renewable energy sector more transparent, efficient and accessible. Together we’re driving the transition to net zero and leaving a lasting mark on our industry and the environment.

Our market leading power purchase agreement (PPA) platform has been changing how renewable energy is sold in the UK for 10 years and we’re just as ambitious as we were in 2016.

Role Overview

As Business Development Manager you’ll be a key player in our UK commercial team, responsible for expanding our client base into large and enterprise level accounts. That means building relationships, earning trust and delivering real value.

If you want a team that listens to your input, gives you room to grow and sits at the front of the energy transition, this is the place for you.

Tasks

  • Get to know your prospects properly. Build out the network of stakeholders inside each account and earn trust by sharing insight and bringing in our internal experts.
  • You’ll work with owners of renewable energy projects, including investment funds, asset managers and developers, helping them find the best route to market.
  • Own your business development pipeline end to end through a relationship-led sales process.
  • Build or deepen your understanding of the UK power market, then put that expertise to work for clients.
  • Build genuine client relationships by phone, in person and at industry events. Everything we do is aimed at a win-win.
  • Stay curious and find new ways to enter accounts that creates value.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Requirements

  • Long, complex sales cycles, with examples you can talk through. Deals that took months, involved several decision makers and needed patience.
  • Selling to sophisticated buyers such as investment funds, asset managers or corporate finance teams. People who think in returns and risk.
  • Evidence of mapping and working an account with several influencers, rather than relying on a single contact.
  • Commercial literacy. You’re comfortable with numbers, contracts and financial concepts.
  • The ability to learn a regulated, jargon-heavy market quickly and explain it simply.
  • A go-getter who runs their own pipeline, forecasts honestly and doesn’t wait to be handed a plan.
  • Excellent discovery skills. You ask the questions that get below the surface- the “need behind the need”.
  • The judgement to read a prospect properly and work out whether we can genuinely add value, and the honesty to say so when we can’t.
  • A collaborative instinct. You bring the right colleague into the room rather than winging it.
  • A genuine interest in renewables and where the energy transition is heading.
