Plant Designs are London’s foremost design-led plant experts, providing quality horticultural services to workplaces and events. We design, install, and care for some of the city’s most innovative interior landscapes, working with over 350 clients to bring the benefits of planting to their buildings. We pride ourselves on our award-winning plant displays and our ability, through the commitment and experience of our team, to care for them.

The Role

We are looking for a focused and energetic Salesperson in horticultural design, to join our rapidly expanding Business Development team. Our ideal candidate will be someone who has a strong understanding of sales processes and the ability to excel at generating leads, building relationships, and closing deals.

Objectives & Responsibilities

  • Represent Plant Designs professionally, demonstrating our core values while consistently achieving your individual monthly sales targets.
  • Develop expert knowledge of Plant Designs' products and services, and confidently present them to clients.
  • Build relationships with key decision-makers and companies in the commercial property sector to generate new business opportunities.
  • Carry out weekly site visits to meet prospective clients and deliver presentations.
  • Work with the in-house graphic design team to produce clear, accurate proposals, presentations, and other sales materials.
  • Work with Client Managers to grow business with existing clients by identifying opportunities to expand the services they use.
  • Work with the Horticultural team to build your knowledge of plants and interior landscaping.
  • Collaborate with the Production and Operations teams to ensure projects are delivered successfully and profitably.
  • Attend networking events and trade shows regularly to build your network and identify new business opportunities.
  • Respond promptly to inbound enquiries while proactively generating and developing your own sales leads.

Candidate skills and experience

  • 3+ years of sales experience.
  • Experience in working to and exceeding sales targets.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, time management and organizational skills.
  • A quick learner with the initiative to work both independently and in a team.
  • Personable and professional.
  • Proficiency with sales management software and CRM.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, namely PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Strong ability to balance persuasion with professionalism.
  • Strong ability to create opportunities and manage own time/tasks.
  • Ability to understand floorplans and drawings.

This is a full-time role based in Central London, working between our Farringdon office/showroom and client sites. Basic salary £38,000 plus commission (OTE £50,000+).
