Key qualities include:

  • Proactive communication via cold calling, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, email campaigns, and trade events
  • Mastery of the full sales cycle—from prospecting to closing
  • Ability to conduct structured discovery conversations, identifying customer challenges and tailoring solutions
  • CRM proficiency—updating opportunities and providing reliable forecasts
  • Experience selling complex solutions like warehouse management systems (WMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software

Bonus attributes:

  • Familiarity with MEDDPIC (a structured sales qualification framework)
  • Ability to personalise product demonstrations and map features to customer outcomes
  • Practical collaboration with internal teams (pre-sales, product, implementation) to develop real-world solutions
