New Business Executive - SaaS

Manchester | Hybrid
£35,000 basic + £16,000 OTE | Uncapped Commission

We're partnering with one of the UK and Europe's leading providers of accountancy and payroll software, supporting businesses and organisations with technology that makes essential day-to-day processes simpler, more efficient and compliant.

As part of continued growth, they're looking for ambitious New Business Executives to join their Manchester sales team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a proven sales background who wants to develop their career within SaaS/technology sales.

Importantly, you don't need previous technology or SaaS experience. If you can demonstrate that you know how to sell, build relationships and close business, you'll receive extensive product and industry training to get you up to speed.

The Role

As a New Business Executive, your focus will be simple: winning new customers and generating new revenue.

You'll be responsible for identifying and engaging prospective customers, understanding their business requirements and introducing relevant software solutions.

This is a proactive sales position, so you'll need to be comfortable building pipeline, opening conversations with new prospects and developing opportunities from initial contact through to close.

You'll combine self-generated outbound activity with inbound opportunities and wider marketing campaigns, giving you multiple routes to building your pipeline.

Day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying and targeting prospective new customers.
  • Generating new business opportunities through proactive outbound activity.
  • Prospecting through phone, email, LinkedIn and other channels.
  • Building and maintaining a healthy sales pipeline.
  • Engaging key stakeholders and decision-makers within prospective customers.
  • Running discovery conversations to understand customer requirements and challenges.
  • Presenting relevant software products and solutions.
  • Managing opportunities through the full sales cycle from initial engagement to close.
  • Handling inbound sales enquiries and converting them into opportunities.
  • Working closely with Marketing on campaigns and lead-generation activity.
  • Consistently working towards individual revenue targets and KPIs.
  • Maintaining accurate pipeline, prospect and opportunity information within the CRM.
  • Supporting events and other activities designed to generate new customer opportunities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The original brief calls for end-to-end sales experience and specifically highlights strategic outreach, pipeline generation, inbound enquiries and target/KPI performance.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who is commercially driven, confident and genuinely enjoys winning new business.

You might already be working in B2B sales, business development or account acquisition, or you could be a strong B2C salesperson looking to make the move into the technology sector.

Ideally, you'll have:

  • At least 1 year of sales/closing experience.
  • Evidence of achieving or exceeding sales targets and KPIs.
  • Experience generating your own opportunities and developing pipeline.
  • Confidence approaching and engaging prospective customers.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to understand customer requirements and position solutions accordingly.
  • A proactive, resilient approach to new business.
  • Strong organisational and pipeline-management skills.
  • The confidence to manage conversations from initial prospecting through to close.
  • A competitive, ambitious and target-driven mindset.

Previous B2B, 360 sales, business development, new business or SaaS experience would be advantageous, but technology experience isn't essential.

The existing specification describes B2B experience as preferred and places greater importance on having the right sales mindset, communication skills and end-to-end sales capability.

Earnings & Training

You'll receive a £35,000 basic salary with £16,000 OTE, taking expected earnings to around £51,000, with commission uncapped.

Targets are designed to be realistic and achievable, and you'll receive £1,333 guaranteed commission in your first month while completing your initial training.

Alongside uncapped commission, the team runs incentives including team days out, international trips, event tickets and larger prizes, with previous rewards including a trip to Las Vegas and an electric MINI.

You'll also receive a wider benefits package including:

  • Generous holiday allowance
  • Private healthcare
  • Life assurance
  • Income protection
  • Charity/volunteering days
  • Employee Assistance Programme
  • Employee discount schemes
  • Cycle-to-work scheme

Desired Skills and Experience

  • At least 1 year of sales/closing experience, within B2B or B2C.
  • Proven ability to work towards and achieve sales targets and KPIs.
  • Confident identifying cross-sell and upsell opportunities within an existing customer base.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with a customer-focused, consultative approach.
  • Comfortable generating pipeline through proactive outreach and following up on inbound opportunities.
  • Confident communicator who can engage customers, understand their needs and present appropriate solutions.
  • Commercially minded with the ability to spot opportunities to grow and retain accounts.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple customers and opportunities.
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to work closely with Marketing and wider commercial teams.
  • Ambitious, energetic and motivated by targets, commission and career progression.
  • Previous B2B, 360 sales, account management or business development experience would be advantageous.
  • No previous SaaS/technology sales experience is required - full product and sales training will be provided.
