Our client is one of the UK's fastest-growing retail businesses, with a significant national presence and ambitious plans for continued growth.

As part of that growth, they are looking for a New Business Lead to join their Marketplace team at their Plymouth Head Office.

This is a commercial role focused on identifying, attracting and onboarding new sellers to the marketplace. You'll build relationships with brands and suppliers, identify growth opportunities and help expand product choice for customers.

If you enjoy winning new business, building partnerships and working in a fast-paced environment, this could be the opportunity for you.

The role

You'll be responsible for growing the marketplace by sourcing and onboarding high-quality sellers across a range of product categories.

Working closely with the Marketplace Manager and wider business teams, you'll ensure new sellers are successfully introduced to the platform and set up for long-term success.

Key responsibilities include

  • Identifying and recruiting new marketplace sellers in line with business priorities
  • Building and managing a pipeline of prospective sellers
  • Developing and delivering seller acquisition plans
  • Researching market trends, competitor activity and category opportunities
  • Approaching, engaging and pitching to prospective sellers
  • Managing the full sales cycle from initial contact through to agreement
  • Conducting seller assessments and compliance checks
  • Supporting new sellers throughout the onboarding process
  • Ensuring products are listed accurately and within agreed timescales
  • Building positive relationships with sellers during their first few months on the platform
  • Working with internal teams to ensure a smooth onboarding experience
  • Handing over established sellers to the Account Management team
  • Representing the business at trade shows, industry events and webinars
  • Monitoring and reporting on key performance measures including acquisition activity and account performance

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
