Job Description
New Business Manager | Marketplace and E-commerce
I'm currently recruiting for a New Business Manager on behalf of an established UK retail business with a growing online marketplace and e-commerce proposition.
This is a commercially focused opportunity for someone with experience in business development, supplier acquisition, marketplace growth or partner management.
The role
You'll be responsible for identifying, engaging and onboarding new brands, sellers and suppliers across a range of priority categories.
The role will cover the full new business journey, from prospecting and pipeline development through to commercial negotiation, onboarding, launch and early-stage performance. You'll work across marketplace and dropship models, helping partners identify the most suitable route to market.
You'll collaborate closely with Buying, Marketplace, Digital, Merchandising, Content and Operations teams to identify range gaps, respond to customer demand and support online growth.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
