Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated New Business Sales Consultant to drive growth across our Managed Print, Unified Communications, and Digital Transformation portfolio.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of generating and winning new business opportunities within the technology sector. This is a consultative sales role focused on identifying customer challenges, developing tailored solutions, and building long-term strategic relationships.

The role is ideal for a new business hunter who enjoys opening doors, engaging decision-makers, and helping organisations modernise their technology and business processes.

Key Responsibilities

New Business Development

  • Identify, target, and win new customers across key vertical markets.
  • Develop and execute territory and account acquisition plans.
  • Generate opportunities through networking, referrals, LinkedIn, marketing campaigns, and self-generated prospecting.
  • Build relationships with C-level executives, IT leaders, Operations Directors, and Finance decision-makers.
  • Conduct high-quality discovery meetings to uncover business challenges and opportunities.

Solution Selling

  • Promote Principal's portfolio including Managed Print Services (MPS), Unified Communications & Telecoms, Digital Transformation Solutions, Workflow Automation, Document Management and Cloud and IT Services.
  • Deliver compelling presentations, demonstrations, and business cases.
  • Create proposals and commercial solutions that align with customer objectives.
  • Clearly articulate ROI, cost reduction, security, productivity, and sustainability benefits.

Pipeline Management

  • Maintain a healthy sales pipeline capable of exceeding revenue targets.
  • Accurately record activities, forecasts, opportunities, and customer interactions within CRM.
  • Provide regular sales forecasts and pipeline updates.

Strategic Account Engagement

  • Develop trusted advisor relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities within customer accounts.
  • Work closely with technical and service delivery teams to ensure successful solution implementation.

Market Awareness

  • Remain up to date with developments in: Managed Print Services, Microsoft technologies, Unified Communications, AI and Automation and Digital Transformation trends.
  • Monitor competitor activity and market opportunities.

Experience & Qualifications

Essential

  • Proven success in B2B new business sales.
  • Experience selling Managed Print Services, Unified Communications, IT Services, or Digital Transformation solutions.
  • Consistent achievement of sales targets and KPIs.
  • Strong prospecting, negotiation, and closing skills.
  • Experience managing complex sales cycles.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable

  • Experience selling Microsoft-based solutions.
  • Knowledge of workflow automation, document management, or business process improvement.
  • Experience selling finance and subscription-based technology solutions.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms such as ConnectWise, Dynamics, Salesforce, or HubSpot.
