The Job

The New Business Sales Executive will be responsible for converting inbound calls and leads into new merchant opportunities while proactively generating their own sales pipeline with a strong focus on the Competition and Game of Skill vertical. The role will combine lead conversion with targeted outbound prospecting, identifying and engaging prospective merchants, developers, referral partners, and key industry contacts to drive sustainable new business growth.

The successful candidate will quickly qualify prospects, understand their requirements, and progress opportunities through the sales pipeline to onboarding, where they will be responsible for the successful ramp up of processing from the merchant, whilst closely working aligned to the Relationship Management team.

What you'll be doing

Responsibilities (80% prospecting / 20% inbound leads)

  • Convert inbound calls, online enquiries, and referral leads into new merchant opportunities.
  • Build a self-generated pipeline through outbound prospecting, networking, and targeted outreach.
  • Win new business within the Competition and Game of Skill vertical.
  • Conduct discovery meetings, present solutions, and negotiate commercial agreements.
  • Manage opportunities through the full sales cycle from initial contact to signed agreement.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, pipeline forecasts, and sales activity to support performance reporting.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver a seamless onboarding experience and achieve new business growth targets.

Sales Qualification

  • Conduct detailed discovery conversations to understand merchant requirements.
  • Assess merchant suitability and gather key information for onboarding and ramp.
  • Identify strong opportunities and progress them into the sales pipeline whilst disqualifying opportunities we cannot support.

Pipeline Management

  • Record all leads, calls, and activities accurately within Salesforce.
  • Track and manage opportunities through to onboarding.
  • Maintain strong organisation and follow-up discipline.
  • Keep a handle on all merchants approved, activated and not yet trading.

Collaboration

  • Closely aligned to Relationship Management team
  • Take ownership (supported by Head of RM) to drive key requirements to the competition industry
  • Work closely with underwriting, onboarding, marketing, support and the wider commercial team.
  • Share insights and feedback from inbound prospects to improve sales processes.

What you'll be experienced in

  • Experienced in delivering a self generated pipeline with demonstrable experience in delivering targets in previous roles
  • Strong all-round communication and rapport-building skills.
  • Team player dedicated to converting sales but with a focus on longevity of the relationship with the merchant
  • Ability to quickly assess and qualify opportunities.
  • Organised with strong CRM discipline and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, KPI & target-driven environment.
  • Experience in payments, fintech, or merchant services is advantageous.

Success Measures

  • Deliver daily outbound call KPI to generate prospective clients
  • Conversion rate from enquiry to live merchant
  • Revenue generated from inbound channels
  • Accuracy of Salesforce Pipeline

This is a full-time role (40 hours a week) – Monday to Friday
Requirement for 1 day minimum within our London Offices
