Company About Us
Founded by former Michelin-starred chef Paul Rhodes in 2003, Paul Rhodes Bakery has built a strong reputation as the go-to supplier of quality handcrafted sourdoughs, cakes and pastries in the capital. Paul’s ambition when he started the bakery was simple: to provide London’s busy chefs with the best handcrafted bread, made from the finest ingredients possible and traditional techniques.
Today, as the bakery heads towards twenty-five years in business, the goal remains the same and this ambition underpins everything we do. We have both a wholesale business supplying some of London’s top restaurants, hotels, cafés, and entertainment venues, as well as our local retail bakery shop which is based a ten-minute walk up the road, in Greenwich Market.
As we continue to grow, we are looking for a driven, energetic and ambitious New Business Sales Executive to help us win new customers in the right sectors - customers who value quality, craft and standout artisan products.
The Role
This role is all about winning new business.
We are looking for someone with the energy, momentum and commercial instinct to get out into the market, identify the right opportunities, build relationships quickly and convert them into new customers.
You will focus on targeting relevant customer segments that are looking for handcrafted, artisan bakery products and deliver a proactive, hands-on approach to business development. This is a role for someone who enjoys opening doors, building a pipeline, creating opportunities and keeping things moving.
You will be expected to represent Paul Rhodes Bakery with enthusiasm and credibility, bringing our products to life with chefs, buyers and decision-makers across London.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive new business growth by identifying, targeting and winning customers in relevant market segments
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospects across sectors such as restaurants, hotels, cafes, hospitality groups, foodservice operators and premium retail
- Proactively prospect through outreach, networking, site visits and relationship-building
- Get in front of chefs, buyers and operators to understand their needs and present the Paul Rhodes Bakery range in a compelling way
- Create momentum from first conversation through to sample, trial, conversion and launch
- Keep prospect and pipeline information up to date and maintain focused, commercially relevant target lists
- Stay close to market trends, competitor activity and new openings to spot fresh business opportunities
- Act as a strong ambassador for the brand, our products and our standards

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
