About the Role

At Dow Jones, our B2B business delivers critical insights and solutions to financial institutions, corporations, government agencies, and professionals worldwide.

As a New Business Executive, you will be a front-line revenue generator responsible for acquiring new logos and driving growth across our flagship solutions, including Factiva and Risk & Compliance. Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager, you will take ownership of the full sales cycle from prospecting through to close. This is a high-activity, high-impact role suited to someone with a “can-do” attitude, resilience, and a passion for winning new business.

You Will

  • Drive New Business Growth

    • Consistently achieve and exceed new business revenue targets by acquiring new-to-company clients
    • Focus on selling Factiva and Risk & Compliance solutions aligned to client needs
  • Own the Prospecting Motion

    • Identify, research, and target high-potential organisations and key decision-makers
    • Proactively generate opportunities through cold calling, email, and social selling
    • Build and maintain a strong, self-generated pipeline of qualified prospects
  • Qualify & Convert Opportunities

    • Quickly assess prospect fit and prioritise high-value opportunities
    • Use a consultative sales approach to uncover client challenges and position relevant solutions
    • Deliver compelling value propositions that resonate with business needs

  • Manage the Full Sales Cycle

    • Take deals from initial outreach through to close, engaging specialists when needed
    • Navigate multiple stakeholders and buying centres within target organisations
    • Demonstrate strong objection handling and closing skills
  • Develop Market & Product Expertise

    • Build deep knowledge of industry trends and client pain points
    • Articulate the value of Dow Jones solutions in a clear, credible, and commercial way
  • Maintain Pipeline Discipline

    • Accurately track all activity, pipeline, and forecasting in CRM
    • Maintain clean, detailed records of prospect interactions and deal progression

You Have

  • Experience in a new business role, with a strong emphasis on cold outreach but attitude is the most important attribute
  • Ideally a proven success in acquiring new logos and hitting/exceeding targets
  • Ideally experience selling subscription-based or information/data solutions
  • Relentless “can-do” attitude with high energy and resilience
  • Strong prospecting mindset - you’re comfortable picking up the phone and opening doors
  • Excellent communication skills (listening, questioning, written and verbal)
  • Confidence building relationships and credibility quickly with senior stakeholders
  • Commercial awareness and ability to identify opportunities within industries and accounts
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills
  • Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
