New Business Sales Executive

Sellerly Limited is recruiting on behalf of an established and growing Managed Service Provider based in Scotland.

Our client provides managed IT, cybersecurity, cloud and technology services to businesses across Scotland and the wider UK. They have built a strong reputation for looking after their customers properly and are now investing in the next stage of their growth.

This is where you come in.

We are looking for a confident, commercially minded New Business Sales Executive who enjoys creating opportunities, opening doors and turning conversations into genuine sales opportunities.

You will have the freedom to research your market, identify the right prospects and develop meaningful conversations with business owners and senior decision-makers.

You will also work closely with the company's leadership team and Sellerly, helping shape campaigns, messaging and the overall approach to new business development.

The Role

Your focus will be straightforward: help create new customers and build a strong, sustainable sales pipeline.

You will:

  • Research and identify businesses that fit the company's target market.
  • Find and engage the right decision-makers.
  • Start new conversations through telephone, email, LinkedIn and other channels.
  • Understand each prospect's business and identify where technology may be creating problems or opportunities.
  • Qualify genuine sales opportunities rather than simply chase appointments.
  • Build relationships through structured and intelligent follow-up.
  • Arrange qualified sales meetings and support opportunities as they progress.
  • Keep the CRM accurate and manage your pipeline properly.
  • Work with senior management to improve campaigns, messaging and targeting.
  • Track activity, opportunities and results so we know what is working.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The position is remote, although candidates based in Scotland, or with good knowledge of the Scottish business market, would be particularly well suited.

What We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys new business sales.

You should be comfortable picking up the phone, starting conversations from scratch and speaking confidently with business owners and senior decision-makers.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Experience in B2B sales, business development or new business generation.
  • A track record of creating opportunities rather than simply managing inbound leads.
  • Strong telephone and written communication skills.
  • The confidence to speak with senior people without relying on scripts.
  • Good commercial awareness and the ability to understand a prospect's business.
  • Strong organisation and follow-up habits.
  • Experience managing opportunities through a CRM.
  • The resilience and persistence required for successful outbound sales.
  • The ability to work independently and take ownership of results.

Experience selling managed IT services, cybersecurity, cloud, telecoms, or technology services would be a definite advantage, but it is not essential.

For us, attitude, commercial ability and a track record of creating opportunities matter far more than formal qualifications.

Why This Role?

This is an opportunity to join a successful MSP at an important stage of its development.

You will not disappear into a large sales team or become another number on a dashboard. You will have the opportunity to make a visible contribution to the growth of the business and help shape how new business sales develop.

You will have access to experienced sales leadership, structured support and established expertise within the MSP market, while still having the autonomy to build relationships and develop your own pipeline.

For the right person, this could become a significant role as the company continues to grow.

If you enjoy opening doors, developing relationships and seeing the direct impact of the opportunities you create, we would like to hear from you.
