Launch Engineer
Aston Martin St Athan
Are you passionate about bringing world-class vehicles from development into production? Aston Martin is looking for a highly motivated Launch Engineer to join our New Model Launch team, playing a pivotal role in the successful introduction of new vehicle programmes to our production facilities.
As a Launch Engineer, you will be at the heart of vehicle launches, ensuring that quality issues identified during pre-production build phases are investigated, resolved, and permanently eliminated. Working cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, Programme, and Engineering teams, you will drive root cause analysis activities and ensure corrective actions are effectively implemented ahead of Job 1 and customer delivery.
This is an exciting opportunity to become a key contributor within Aston Martin's Manufacturing Operations, leading projects that directly influence vehicle quality, production readiness, and launch success.
What You'll Be Doing
You will take ownership of pre-production build concerns, leading investigations to identify root causes and ensuring robust containment activities and permanent corrective actions are implemented. Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you will facilitate concern review meetings, drive issue resolution, and escalate risks that could impact build timing, production readiness, or Job 1 targets.
The role involves managing concern progression from identification through to closure, monitoring key performance indicators, and presenting progress updates within relevant forums. You will also lead production readiness activities for nominated build locations, ensuring all launch requirements are met and that vehicles are built to the expected quality standards.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
